Gross, Isn't It?

Adam was recalling an incident the other day when they discovered a dead bird in the backyard.

Mum, you know, mama (my mum) was on the deck yesterday and then she went on the grass and she saw a dead bird. She was going to touch it with her foot and I said "no, don't touch it", but she did.

Really?

Yes, she did. Gross, isn't it?

Again, his vocabulary stupefied me!

Who's Right?

At breakfast yesterday, David noted that one of my plant pots had toppled over on the deck. He said, "Do you want me to get it up, mum?"

James corrected him before I could say anything, "You mean, PUT it up?"

Then, it was Adam's turn, "You mean, LIFT it up?"
